Dalam mempromosi blog, terdapat beberapa kaedah atau cara teknikal yang dapat mempertingkatkan kehadiran pengunjung ke blog anda. Kaedah atau cara-cara ini sebenarnya telah dilakukan oleh para-para blogger terdahulu. Ianya memang terbukti memberikan kesan atau impak yang membanggakan.
1. Media konvensional.
Anda menghantar iklan ke dalam surat khabar, majalah, buletin dan sebagainya. Langkah ini, sama ada melibatkan catatan sebahagian kandungan blog ke ruang sisipan di dalam surat khabar atau secara keseluruhan di dalam sesebuah majalah. Masukkan alamat atau URL blog anda untuk memudahkan pembaca menacri artikel penuh di dalam blog anda.
2. Pengiklanan Internet.
Pengiklanan secara online boleh dilakukan samada secara percuma atau berbayar. Langkah ini boleh dilaksanakan dengan berkongsi pautan blog dengan rakan. Penggunaan banting (banner) adalah amat berkesan untuk promosi blog anda. Pengiklanan berbayar dirasakan lebih mampu untuk menarik trafik yang tinggi.
3. Tanda tangan (Signature).
Kaedah ini digunakan oleh forumer atau penggiat forum di internet. Dalam perbicangan forum akan dimasukkan iklan blognya. "Signature" akan diletakkan dibahagian bawah "post". "Signature" lazimnya memuatkan alamat (URL) blog, e-mail dan nombor telefon untuk dihubungi oleh pembaca.

4. Enjin Carian (Search Engine)
Saya telah terangkan enjin carian dalam blog saya yang terdahulu. SEO atau Search Engine Optimizing adalah berperanan mencari kata-kunci atau "keywords" bagi sesebuah blog. Kata-kunci yang bertepatan dengan kandungan blog akan memudahkan pencarian. Enjin carian seperti Google dan Yahoo mampu mengenali dan mengindeks kata-kunci dalam blog dengan cepat.Catatan blog mestilah berkualiti dan mempunyai banyak kata kunci untuk dikesan oleh enjin carian. Penggunaan meta tag sesebuah template blog juga membolehkan hasil carian tepat. Pencarian oleh enjin carian agak mempertingkatkan page rank sesebuah blog.
5. Komuniti
Anda boleh memasuki komuniti dalam forum-forum perbinacangan seperti Yahoo, Google sites, ICQ Forum, Facebook, twitter dan sebagainya. Anda boleh meletakkan URL blog pada status program messenger tersebut.
6. Mailing List
Kebanyakan pengguna internet mempunyai akaun e-mail. Kaedah mailing list berkesan pada sekitar 70%. Kelemahannya ialah ada e-mail yang jadi spum atau junk mail ( masuk tong sampah) dan akan diabaikan.Sebaiknya, senarai email hendaklah dibuat secara terpilih di kalangan kawan sahaja.

7. Backlink (pautan balik
Backlink berkait rapat dengan SEO (Search Engine Optimising) yang mana merupakan pautan sesuatu topik di dalam blog yang boleh didapati pada blog orang lain. Fungsi backlink adalah untuk meningkatkan ranking (tahap pencapaian) dan mendapatkan posisi terbaik sesebuah enjin carian (search engine).
Semakin banyak "backlink" semakin banyak "ranking" pada posisi blog.
